FindTheAsk

Task manager for Gmail

A Gmail task manager that finds the tasks for you

Most Gmail task tools wait for you to star, label, or drag an email before it becomes a task. FindTheAsk reads the message, works out what the sender needs from you, and proposes the task itself: a title, a deadline, and a priority. You approve it in one step.

No more inbox as a to-do list

Unread counts, stars, and snoozed threads are a fragile system. FindTheAsk gives every request its own task, so an ask on line six of a long thread is as visible as one in a subject line.

Deadlines and priority, filled in

When an email says "by Friday" or "before the board meeting", the suggested task carries that date. Each task gets one of five color-coded priority levels that you can change with a tap.

The email stays with the task

Every task links back to the Gmail message it came from, and by default keeps a copy attached, so you can read the original request without searching your archive.

Several Gmail accounts, one list

The Free plan covers one personal Gmail inbox and up to 200 emails a month. Pro connects up to five personal inboxes and five work accounts, with a board for each and a combined view across all of them.

How it works

  1. Connect Gmail

Sign in with Google and grant read-only access. FindTheAsk never sends email on your behalf.

  2. Review the Triage queue

Suggested tasks appear in Triage, most important first. Accept the real ones, mark finished ones done, dismiss the rest.

  3. Work your list or board

Accepted tasks land on a kanban board and a prioritized list, on the web and in the iPhone, iPad, and Android apps.

Common questions

Does FindTheAsk change anything in my Gmail?

Not by default. It connects with read-only access. If you choose to, you can separately allow it to archive or label an email when you act on its task; that is off until you turn it on.

Is there a free Gmail task manager plan?

Yes. The Free plan includes one personal Gmail inbox, AI triage for up to 200 emails a month, and a personal board, with no credit card.

How is this different from Google Tasks?

Google Tasks stores tasks you create yourself. FindTheAsk reads incoming email and proposes the tasks for you, with the deadline and priority taken from the message.
